Simone Ferguson (b. 1999, Fort Worth, TX) is an interdisciplinary artist utilizing performace, light, and fibers in her practice. She has previously studied at Urban Glass (Brooklyn, NY), Fiber Craft Studio (Chestnut Ridge, NY) and the Pilchuck Glass School (Stanwood, WA). She graduated with honors from Alfred University with her BFA in the Spring of 2021 and currently works as a glassblower at Panama City Hot Glass in downtown Panama City, Florida.

Ferguson’s work explores the complex dynamics of the nuclear family through the lens of material poetics and performance. By incorporating found objects and clothing, as well as her own body, she entices the viewer to reflect on their own relationships and the burdens they carry.
